Castello Sforzesco – Architectures in Light

Project Details

Title: Castello Sforzesco – Architectures in Light Year: 2007 Location: Milan

First Illumination Project of the whole city of Milan, called ‘Natale è Luce’ as part of the general project of ‘Milan is Christmas’ events.
Our proposal has been selected for its ‘freshness’ and for the courage in proposing really ‘special’ lighting and right on some historical monuments of the city, such as the Castello Sforzesco.
For the first time this ‘monument’ of the highest artistic value has had a luminous decoration: ‘frozen’ thanks to over 300,000 LED bulbs!
Great preparatory work to obtain all the permits from the various organizations and superintendencies, for the drafting of the work and safety plans and great work for the actual installation, carried out at 82 meters of height, used 2 aerial platforms, one of 78 meters and the other from 55 meters of extension.
Particular relief: all the decorations have been assembled without the need to install dowels or hooks.
The realization of last year carried out on our beautiful Castello De ‘Monti in Corigliano d’Otranto served as an example of the final effect and only thanks to the professionalism and the many experiences of our company the Mayor Moratti and the councilor Cadeo have decided to take this courageous step and decorate the castle with Christmas lights.
We have also installed great three-dimensional comet stars with tails more than 50 meters long in Piazza Cadorna and Piazza Missori and also frozen the Great Central Station as well as via Manzoni. In Piazza 5 Giornate ‘blue clusters’ have been installed on the existing trees.
